LeBron James and Dwyane Wade know a thing or two about playing in the NBA Finals. The two went to 4 Finals in a row with the Miami Heat from 2011 to 2014 during which they won 2 championships. Wade would end his career with 3 titles while LeBron has won 4 and might well win more in the future. With Wade retired and LeBron having failed to make it to the playoffs for once, the two have been keeping themselves busy these days by watching the Finals.
They witnessed the Golden State Warriors register a come-from-behind victory in Game 4 as Steph Curry put on one of the greatest displays in Finals history. When he saw the Boston Celtics put up some bad shots late in the game as the Warriors were turning things around, LeBron tweeted that its game over when you do that against them.
LeBron would know that better than most, having faced Golden State in the Finals from 2015 to 2018. He may have lost 3 of those but the King did lead the greatest comeback in Finals history from down 3-1 in 2016, so he knows what it takes to beat the Warriors. Wade responded to his friend by stating that it will be all about the little things, as this series is now a best of 3 from here on out.
As LeBron replied, you can’t make the kind of mistakes that the Celtics did late in that game. They had it in their hands when they were up 5 with just over 7 minutes remaining but they only scored 6 points the rest of the way. This was their chance at taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the series and instead, they ended up squandering the home-court advantage they had worked so hard to steal in the first place.
